SWIMMING UPSTREAM AGAINST THE MAINSTREAM
One of the main drivers in publishing Netter News is to get stories out that are either underreported, not reported at all, or what we feel are missing key details
Newsletters like ours, along with Social Media, are the media now.
Here are just three that should be headlines and covered by mainstream news, but aren’t:

HAS THE GREEN ENERGY MOVEMENT HELPED CHINA GET INTO OUR POWER GRID EVEN MORE?
Reports indicate that engineers have discovered unauthorized communication devices, or "kill switches," embedded within Chinese-manufactured components in US solar— Mike Netter (@nettermike)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Engineers have discovered unauthorized “kill switches” embedded in Chinese-made components used in U.S. solar farms — specifically inside solar inverters, which connect solar energy systems to the power grid.
These kill switches are hidden communication devices that could allow remote access, raising serious concerns about foreign control over critical infrastructure.
While inverters are typically designed for remote updates and maintenance, utility companies use firewalls to prevent unauthorized access, especially from foreign entities like China.
However, experts warn that these covert devices could bypass such protections, opening the door for manipulation or even shutdown of parts of the power grid.
The risk isn’t just limited to the U.S.—similar vulnerabilities may exist in the UK and Europe. Security officials fear that these devices could be used to cause blackouts or inflict long-term damage on energy systems.
The situation highlights the national security implications of relying on foreign-made technology for core infrastructure.
As concerns mount, this discovery is prompting deeper scrutiny of supply chains and the potential for sabotage built into imported equipment.

Proof Biden Wasn’t Running The Country… So, Who Was?
#BREAKING
Late on Friday, the House Oversight Committee announced that it will resume its investigation of just how the White House operated near the end of Joe Biden’s presidency, given Biden’s cognitive impairment. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s former doctor, who never— Mike Netter (@nettermike)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The House Oversight Committee is reopening its investigation into the final phase of Joe Biden’s presidency, focusing on concerns around his cognitive decline.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who never advised a cognitive test, and White House staff involved in frequent autopen use will be called to testify.
The investigation questions who was truly making decisions, especially regarding executive orders and pardons.
An anonymous insider claimed that “five people were running the country,” with Biden merely acting as a figurehead.
This group allegedly included Bruce Reed, Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, and Ron Klain—none of whom were elected.
The revelations have fueled criticism that unelected aides may have been running a shadow presidency.
Communist-Linked Group Plans Anti-Trump Protest — And the Media is Enabling Them

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
A major protest is being planned to coincide with President Trump’s birthday, aiming to overshadow a large military parade.
The event is being organized by Refuse Fascism, a group known for opposing what it sees as rising fascism in the U.S. Formed after the 2016 election.
Refuse Fascism includes members of the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), though this connection is often omitted in media coverage.
Critics argue that the group is essentially a communist front operating under a different name.
Mainstream outlets like ABC News are reporting on the protests without highlighting the RCP affiliation.
This raises questions about why the media is giving prominent coverage to a group with communist ties while downplaying or omitting key context.

Los Angeles Votes for $30 Minimum Wage: Goal? Kill Economy and Jobs

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The Los Angeles City Council has approved a measure to incrementally raise the minimum wage for hotel and airport workers to $30 per hour by 2028, coinciding with the city’s hosting of the Olympic Games.
This decision, passed with a 12-3 vote, applies to hotels with more than 60 rooms and businesses operating at Los Angeles International Airport.
The wage increases will be phased in over three years, starting at $22.50 in July 2025, then rising to $25 in 2026, $27.50 in 2027, and reaching $30 by July 2028.
Proponents argue that this move addresses the high cost of living and ensures fair compensation for essential workers.
However, critics, including business leaders and some council members, warn that the wage hike could lead to job losses, reduced hours, and deter future investments in the city.
The tourism industry, still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, expresses concerns over the potential economic impact, especially with international visitor numbers not yet returning to pre-pandemic levels.
Despite these concerns, supporters believe the wage increase is a necessary step toward economic justice for workers.
A second vote is required for final approval due to the non-unanimous initial vote.
From Promises to Policy: The ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ Is Poised to Deliver

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
“The One, Big, Beautiful Bill” is a promising step in that direction — a blueprint that speaks directly to the priorities of working families.
This bill aims to deliver on several fronts, including:
A strengthened Child Tax Credit temporarily raised to $2,500 per child — providing immediate, meaningful relief for millions of working families.
Making tip and overtime income deductible, giving service-sector workers — many of whom are Black and Hispanic — a real financial boost.
MAGA Accounts, designed to help families save for homeownership, education, and entrepreneurship — powerful tools to build lasting wealth.
Expanded support for Small Business Owners through enhanced deductions, improved Opportunity Zones, and a permanent expansion of the Qualified Business Income deduction — policies that encourage entrepreneurship, the same path that lifted my own family out of hardship.
Broader access to Health Savings Accounts, including for working seniors and those using direct primary care, promoting economic freedom and more healthcare choices.

Jonathan Hatami | A Failing Grade on a Test of Courage

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
In his column, Jonathan Hatami, a Democrat and veteran child abuse prosecutor, criticizes Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo for her silence on a key amendment to Assembly Bill 379 that would have made it a felony to buy sex from 16- and 17-year-olds.
He argues that all minors—regardless of age—deserve full legal protection from traffickers and predators.
Hatami notes that while other Democrats like Assemblywoman Maggie Krell actively opposed the measure, Schiavo offered no support or comment, showing a lack of courage when it was needed most.
He takes aim at the rationale used by some lawmakers—that criminalizing these actions might unintentionally harm 18-year-olds in consensual relationships—as a weak excuse that downplays the severity of the issue.
Hatami believes political leaders often put party loyalty and personal ambition ahead of child safety, and that this moment revealed a failure in moral leadership.
He stresses that real courage means standing up for what’s right, even when it’s politically inconvenient.
Hatami calls on Schiavo to prioritize the protection of children over her political alliances.
He ends with a plea for accountability and bold leadership that refuses to compromise on the safety of vulnerable youth.
