Trump Making FAFO Great Again, LA Wasting $77M, and More...
BREAKING NEWS
Prop 28 was passed by California voters in 2022 and allocated funds specifically for art and music education in the school district.
However, the district allegedly decided that it knew better how to spend almost $77 million of those funds.
Los Angeles Unified officials repeatedly violated Proposition 28 — a state law requiring the hiring of arts teachers — misusing millions in state funds and denying promised arts instruction to students across the school system, according to allegations in a lawsuit filed Monday.… x.com/i/web/status/1…

The suit was filed by former superintendent, Austin Beutner, along with several students and their guardians. They allege that funds were misused, resulting in students who by law should be receiving art and music education were unable to do so.
By voting for Prop 28, parents made their intentions and expectations for their children's education clear. If the school district did violate this Proposition, it’s not just a sign of disrespect toward the law, it’s a sign of disrespect toward the parents of their students.

We are winning the fight against Gavin Newsom’s gas price hikes!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The California Office of Administrative Law has paused Gavin Newsom’s proposed 65-cent gas price hike due to legal transparency issues.
Newsom’s Air Resources Board approved the increase right after the election, but public pressure forced a reversal.
Critics argue Newsom approved the pause to avoid political fallout from rising gas prices.
His administration has 120 days to revise and resubmit the plan.
Republican Senate Leader Brian W. Jones is pushing Senate Bill 2 to repeal the gas hike permanently.
Bipartisan opposition is growing, and supporters are urged to sign a petition to stop the increase.
Jones is calling for donations to continue the fight against Newsom’s gas price policies.

US Department of Education launches investigations into California Interscholastic Federation
Along with the Minnesota State High School League, the California Interscholastic Federation is being investigated by the US Department of Education after both organizations made public announcements regarding plans to “violate federal antidiscrimination laws related to girls’ and women’s sports.”
The investigation has brought praise and criticism to individuals, but many female athletes and their parents are celebrating the investigation as a turning of the tide in their favor.
The announcement of this investigation comes on the heels of President Trump’s February 5th Executive Order, Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports, which seeks to “protect opportunities for women and girls to compete in safe and fair sports…”
California AG cleaning up appearances before potential gubernatorial run

California Attorney General Rob Bonta received a 2021 campaign contribution from The Bicycle, a Southern California casino, as he pursued reelection. Interestingly, this donation was received right around the time the California Bureau of Gambling Control was investigating the casino for potentially failing to address money laundering.
This contribution, along with at least $230,000 more in donations, has been returned to donors in an effort to remove any appearance of ulterior motives on the Attorney General’s part. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Bonta is a front-runner for governor and may be working to remove any suggestion of conflicts of interest.
Trump Making FAFO Great Again… (F*** around and find out)

Tariffs and Investigations and DOGE, Oh My… Let’s dive in:
It’s like dad’s been gone for a while and some guy was hanging around trying to tell us what to do, threatening us with terrible consequences if we didn’t do what he said. But now, dad’s home and the picture for anyone crossing him isn’t a pretty one.
In Trump’s short time in office, he’s already set the tone for the next four years. He’s playing hardball. It appears that the nation’s (and the world’s) leaders have two options: play by his rules or go home.
After four years of chaos for Americans under Biden, voters gave Trump a mandate. The attitude for many seemed to be, “Well, let’s see what he can do.”
And boy, has he come out of the gate strong. Love or hate his policies and cabinet picks, we have to admit that he’s being decisive, which is something America desperately needs in a leader.
And he’s not tolerating any BS. In his first term, Trump was figuring out the game. Now, he knows the rules and how he can use them to his advantage.
For many, MAGA is what defines his policies. But the below-linked article makes a good point. Trump has adopted a slightly modified policy to accomplish his MAGA mission: FAFO.
