First off… The Big News 👇

“If we lose freedom here, there's no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth,
and this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except the sovereign people, is still the newest and the most unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man.”

Ronald Reagan, October 27, 1964

A Time for Choosing

MY PROMISE TO YOU

The DEMOCRATS in charge are thieves and criminals, the level of corruption in California and well beyond – as we have seen is unprecedented.

Unfortunately, some of the institutional REPUBLICANS that enable them up there are cowards.  I can’t blame all of them, Sacramento is a scary place.

We have a chance here to change the status quo, howevernothing changes if your vote doesn’t get counted.  As it turns out it has become easier than ever to cast your ballot.  I have included links with locations and additional information to serve as an aid and guide you to your nearest location.

In fact, if you have difficulty for any reason getting to one of the locations and need assistance you can contact my campaign directly, HERE

We need to remove and replace these career and institutionalized politicians EVERYWHERE that are too busy stealing from us, ignoring us, or remain fundamentally incapable of changing things here in California for the better.

My opponent is in trouble, literally.  Susan Rubio is currently under investigation, but Democrats have worked hard to keep it quiet.  The Unions have quietly withheld their endorsement.  She can’t raise money.  THIS IS OUR CHANCE!

If just one third of the Republicans that didn’t vote in the last election shows up and votes, she loses.  This isn’t fantasy, it’s math.  Please don’t delay, let’s turn this ship and this district around.

Cast that vote, make a difference and let’s make history right here, right now.

There is a pathway to victory here, not just for me but for all of us because it requires all of us to make the effort and do the hard work it takes to win.  We can do this & we can win but we must always no matter the challenge and no matter the threat – NEVER SURRENDER.

Let’s focus our efforts together.  I promise to do everything within my ability, leave no stone unturned, and give no quarter nor rest to the thieves, cowards and ineffective people that call themselves leaders.

I am no more special than you or anyone in our state that cares about its future, and cares about the truth.  I am different in the fact that I am willing to put myself in harm’s way and encounter our foes where they eat, sleep, pretend to work, and play.

I am willing to disrupt their comfortable lifestyle and go against the grain, serve the people of this State and deliver on my commitments - this is my promise to you.

Sincerely,

Mike Netter

Gavin Newsom Gets Challenged Over California Record During Bill Maher Appearance

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • California Governor Gavin Newsom appeared on Bill Maher’s program as he continues expanding his national media profile and positioning himself as a possible future presidential contender.

  • During the conversation, Maher criticized Newsom over issues including California’s homelessness crisis, high cost of living, population loss, and the state’s broader governance problems.

  • Maher also argued that Newsom’s communication style increasingly resembles Donald Trump’s approach, telling the governor, “You sound exactly like him,” during part of the exchange.

  • The discussion highlighted growing frustration from both conservatives and some moderates over California’s affordability challenges, crime concerns, and ongoing outmigration of residents and businesses.

  • Critics argued that Newsom frequently focuses on messaging and national political battles while many Californians remain frustrated over everyday economic and quality-of-life issues.

  • The interview reflects a broader debate within national politics over whether California’s model of governance represents a success story or a warning sign for the rest of the country.

Gavin Newsom’s Free Diaper Program Already is a $77 Million Non-Profit

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • California launched a program called “Golden State Start” that will provide 400 free diapers to families of newborns delivered at participating hospitals beginning in 2026.

  • Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the initiative would initially operate in about 65 to 75 hospitals, many of which serve low-income families and Medi-Cal patients.

  • The state allocated $7.4 million for the program in the 2025 budget and proposed an additional $12.5 million to continue and expand it through 2027.

  • California partnered with the nonprofit Baby2Baby to manufacture and distribute the diapers under the “Golden State Start” label.

  • Estimates discussed in coverage of the program projected that tens of millions of diapers would be distributed annually, with some critics arguing the estimated per-diaper cost was significantly higher than retail bulk prices.

  • Supporters of the initiative described it as part of broader California affordability policies that also include free school meals, preschool expansion, and paid family leave programs.

Herb W. Morgan Launches California Radical Transparency (CRT) Version 2.0, Revealing Billions in CA State Spending and Challenging FI$Cal's Billion-Dollar Failures

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Herb W. Morgan, a Republican candidate for California State Controller, announced the launch of “California Radical Transparency (CRT) Version 2.0,” a platform designed to analyze and display California state financial records.

  • The system reportedly processes more than 122 million FI$Cal financial records representing approximately $2 trillion in California state financial activity.

  • Morgan stated that the platform was built by a small volunteer team in less than two weeks and was intended to improve public access to state spending data.

  • The project criticizes California’s long-running FI$Cal financial management system, which has faced years of delays, cost overruns, and oversight concerns from state auditors.

  • The article also references estimates that the FI$Cal project has cost taxpayers more than $1 billion over nearly two decades of development.

  • Morgan’s proposal includes plans for searchable public dashboards, expanded financial oversight tools, and real-time transparency measures intended to make state financial activity easier for taxpayers and journalists to review.

San Francisco school district under fire over mandatory ‘ethnic studies’ identity course for freshmen

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The article discusses criticism directed at the San Francisco Unified School District over a required ninth-grade ethnic studies course that became mandatory for students beginning in 2024.

  • Opponents argued that portions of the curriculum emphasized topics such as structural racism, colonialism, gender identity, capitalism, and power dynamics in ways they considered politically or ideologically biased.

  • The controversy included complaints from some parents and advocacy groups about lesson materials involving race, identity, social justice, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

  • District officials reviewed the curriculum after public criticism and eventually approved a revised ethnic studies program aligned more closely with California’s state model curriculum.

  • The debate also involved concerns about transparency, with critics arguing that the course requirement and curriculum approval process were not clearly communicated to families or fully reviewed by the school board beforehand.

  • Supporters of the program said ethnic studies courses help students better understand history, culture, discrimination, and civic engagement, while critics argued the curriculum should present a wider range of viewpoints and avoid political advocacy.

Jewish Federation denounces "vile" antisemitic tropes in official California voter guide

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Jewish Federation Los Angeles publicly criticized California Secretary of State Shirley Weber after antisemitic material appeared in California’s official 2026 voter information guide.

  • The controversy involved a candidate statement submitted by gubernatorial candidate Don J. Grundmann that included conspiracy theories about Jewish people, claims regarding Israel and the September 11 attacks, and references to the Goyim Defense League, which has been identified as a hate group.

  • Jewish organizations and members of the California Legislative Jewish Caucus argued that the statement violated existing voter guide rules limiting candidate statements to personal background and qualifications.

  • Secretary of State officials initially said legal and constitutional concerns affected the state’s ability to reject the submission, but later stated they were working with lawmakers on possible changes to California election law.

  • The article also notes that critics questioned how the statement passed the state’s internal review process before publication and distribution.

  • Jewish advocacy groups described the inclusion of the material in an official taxpayer-funded voter guide as unacceptable and called for stronger safeguards against hate speech in future elections.

Why Did California Award This Alleged Hamas Front $40 Million?

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The article examines California grants awarded to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and affiliated organizations through state-funded programs connected to hate prevention and community services.

  • It discusses claims that California approved approximately $40 million in grants tied to CAIR-linked groups during Gavin Newsom’s administration.

  • The piece references allegations and investigations involving certain CAIR chapters in other states, including accusations of extremist ties and scrutiny from lawmakers and advocacy groups.

  • It also compares California’s continued funding of CAIR-affiliated organizations with efforts in some other states to restrict or investigate those groups.

  • The article highlights criticism from conservative commentators and researchers who argue that the grants lacked sufficient oversight and should have received greater public scrutiny before approval.

  • In addition to discussing the grant funding itself, the piece connects the issue to broader debates over nonprofit accountability, counterterrorism concerns, and state oversight of public money distributed to advocacy organizations.

Editorial Done Yet?

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The article discusses frustration over conditions in Los Angeles and California, focusing on issues such as homelessness, crime, illegal drug use, rising taxes, high housing costs, and government spending.

  • It argues that residents are paying increasing amounts in gas taxes, utility costs, insurance premiums, fees, and bond measures while many public services and infrastructure problems remain unresolved.

  • Specific concerns mentioned include deteriorating roads and sidewalks, broken streetlights, retail theft, homeless encampments, open drug use, and street takeovers involving cars and illegal racing activities.

  • The piece also criticizes government bureaucracy, political leadership, and the pace of housing and development projects in California.

  • It references concerns about corruption, political patronage, and the belief that taxpayer money is not being effectively used to improve public conditions.

  • The article frames these issues as part of a broader debate about governance, public accountability, quality of life, and whether current California policies are producing measurable improvements for residents.

LA Mayoral Debate

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass participated in a televised mayoral debate in May 2026 focused on issues including wildfire response, homelessness, crime, immigration, housing, and the local economy.

  • Much of the debate centered on the Palisades wildfire that killed about 30 people and destroyed thousands of homes in the Los Angeles area.

  • Bass acknowledged criticism over being in Ghana on a diplomatic trip when the fires began and described the disaster as one of the worst moments of her life.

  • She defended her administration’s handling of the crisis while also criticizing former Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley over staffing decisions made during the emergency.

  • Opponents in the debate included City Councilmember Nithya Raman and media personality Spencer Pratt, whose campaign has focused heavily on criticism of city leadership following the wildfire disaster.

  • The debate also included broader discussions about homelessness programs, public safety, housing affordability, and efforts to revive film and television production in Los Angeles.

LA mayoral debate in tatters as Nithya Raman joins Karen Bass in suddenly pulling out at last minute

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • A televised Los Angeles mayoral debate scheduled for May 13, 2026, was canceled after Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman withdrew from the event.

  • The debate had been organized by the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs and the League of Women Voters of Greater Los Angeles and was set to air on Fox 11 before the June 2 primary election.

  • Bass said she withdrew in order to travel to Sacramento to seek state funding related to homelessness programs and recovery from the Palisades wildfire.

  • Raman’s campaign later announced that she no longer planned to attend because her primary reason for participating was to debate the incumbent mayor.

  • Reality television personality Spencer Pratt, another major candidate in the race, had already declined the invitation earlier because of a scheduling conflict.

  • Organizers stated that only two lesser-known candidates remained after the withdrawals, leading them to cancel the forum entirely ahead of what was expected to be one of the final major debates before the primary election.

Arcadia mayor Eileen Wang admits acting as Chinese spy, running fake news website with ex-lover in shocking plea deal

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang resigned after federal prosecutors accused her of acting as an unregistered agent for the Chinese government and agreeing to plead guilty to the charge.

  • Federal authorities alleged that from 2020 to 2022 she worked with associates connected to Chinese government officials to distribute pro-Beijing propaganda through a website aimed at Chinese-American audiences.

  • Prosecutors said the content included messaging denying human rights abuses against Uyghurs in China’s Xinjiang region and other narratives favorable to the Chinese government.

  • The Justice Department stated that Wang’s activities occurred before she officially took office on the Arcadia City Council in late 2022 and said investigators found no misuse of city resources after she entered public office.

  • The case also involved Yaoning “Mike” Sun, Wang’s former fiancé and campaign treasurer, who previously pleaded guilty to acting as an illegal foreign agent and received a federal prison sentence.

(Back in March) Ontario voters reject union backed hospitality measures: The revolt against more California taxation is happening

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Ontario voters rejected two union-backed ballot measures in a March 2026 special election focused on the city’s hospitality industry.

  • Measure V would have gradually increased the minimum wage for hotel, airport, and event center workers to $30 per hour by 2030 while also adding workplace safety and workload regulations for hospitality employees.

  • Measure W would have required voter approval for future large hotel and event center development projects in Ontario.

  • Early election results showed Measure V losing by roughly 60% to 40%, while Measure W was also defeated with about 53% voting against it.

  • The measures were supported by Unite Here Local 11, which argued they would improve wages, worker protections, and public oversight of development projects in the city.

  • Ontario city officials and business groups opposed the proposals, arguing they would discourage tourism investment, slow development, and harm economic growth tied to hotels, conventions, and entertainment projects.

QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED, LEADERSHIP FOR INSURANCE COMMISSIONER

Stacy Korsgaden is a nationally recognized insurance subject-matter expert who is running for California Insurance Commissioner. Korsgaden has held an active California Insurance License (#0750748) since 1988 and has spent more than 37 years helping families and small businesses navigate complex insurance policies, devastating losses, and an increasingly broken regulatory system. Insurance isn’t theoretical to her—it’s personal. Her career has been built one client at a time, through annual reviews, difficult claims, wildfire losses, and the long process of helping people rebuild their lives and livelihoods. She has navigated the marketplace and worked directly with regulators—experience no other candidate can match. Stacy built a full-service insurance agency from the ground up, servicing nearly 8,000 policies, and earning top national recognition for excellence in underwriting, production, and client service.

Korsgaden is running for Insurance Commissioner because California’s insurance market is in crisis and she has the experience needed to make a difference. Premiums are skyrocketing, coverage is disappearing, and families and small businesses are being squeezed by bureaucratic red tape, political mismanagement, and negligence that has driven insurers out of the state. Korsgaden has prepared a plan that restores competition, expands insurance options, lowers costs for working families, strengthens consumer protections and disaster response, and brings stability back to the market. Korsgaden’s leadership is grounded in experience, accountability, and a deep understanding of how insurance actually works in the real world. Insurance is the foundation of every financial plan and every resilient community. Korsgaden isn’t learning this job—she has spent her career doing it, and she is ready to serve California with integrity, expertise, and common sense.

Korsgaden is on the Executive Board of the San Luis Obispo County Fire Safe Council. She has served on the executive leadership team of the Boys & Girls Club of South San Luis Obispo County and is also a former Chair of the South County Chamber of Commerce, and the Immediate Past President of her local Rotary Club.
