Newsom Wants to Force Homeless Californians to Move Camp Every 3 Days

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Governor Gavin Newsom has introduced a model ordinance urging California cities to ban homeless encampments, aiming to prohibit individuals from camping in one location for more than three consecutive nights and blocking public pathways.
The proposed ordinance emphasizes providing a 48-hour notice before clearing encampments and mandates efforts to offer shelter and services to those affected.
While the state has allocated over $27 billion to address homelessness, critics argue that the new directive lacks enforcement mechanisms and may not effectively tackle the root causes of homelessness, such as the shortage of affordable housing and shelter beds.
Advocates express concern that frequent displacement of homeless individuals could disrupt their access to services and exacerbate their situations.
Newsom’s announcement coincides with the release of $3.3 billion in Proposition 1 funds aimed at expanding housing and treatment options for the homeless population.

California Spends $9.5B on Healthcare for Undocumented Immigrants While Medi-Cal Faces Insolvency
As of November 2024, California had enrolled 14,815,950 people in Medi-Cal, according to the state's Department of Health Care Services.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
As of November 2024, nearly 14.8 million people were enrolled in California’s Medi-Cal program, including around 1.9 million undocumented immigrants.
The state spends about $161 billion annually on Medi-Cal, with roughly $9.5 billion going toward coverage for undocumented individuals — a cost mostly shouldered by California taxpayers due to limited federal reimbursement.
Critics argue that this spending is contributing to the program’s financial instability, with no clear plan from Governor Gavin Newsom to address it. Rep.
Kevin Kiley has accused Newsom of ignoring the issue, calling the program “insolvent.”
The governor’s continued support for unlimited Medi-Cal access, including for undocumented immigrants, has sparked growing political and public concern over the state’s budget priorities.

More Delusion in the “Golden State”

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Governor Gavin Newsom continues to promote California’s “Golden State model” as a national example, despite visible declines in quality of life.
Critics argue his leadership is marked by wasteful spending, including billions on homelessness with little progress, and costly infrastructure projects like the high-speed rail.
At the same time, taxes and fees keep rising, putting more pressure on residents and businesses.
These policies have contributed to California’s first net population loss since 1850. Many believe the state’s political leadership is out of touch with the reality on the ground.

Ever The Gaslighter, Newsom Attempted to Blame His Disastrous State Finances on Donald Trump (of course):

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
California Governor Gavin Newsom has reversed his policy of providing free Medi-Cal coverage to all low-income undocumented immigrants due to escalating costs and a projected $12 billion state budget deficit.
Starting in 2026, new adult applicants without legal status will be barred from enrolling, and existing undocumented enrollees will be required to pay a $100 monthly premium beginning in 2027.
The program’s expenses exceeded initial projections by $2.7 billion, contributing significantly to the state’s financial shortfall.
Newsom attributes the deficit to factors such as increased Medi-Cal expenditures, federal policy uncertainties, and economic volatility, including impacts from tariffs.
This policy shift has drawn criticism from immigrant advocacy groups, who view it as a retreat from California’s commitment to universal healthcare.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
On May 1, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a major report challenging the medical foundation of “gender-affirming care” for children.
The report states there is no strong evidence or ethical justification for these treatments, and highlights the potential for harm.
It criticizes U.S. medical institutions for ignoring international data and continuing these interventions despite growing evidence against them.
The agency also launched a whistleblower portal to support individuals reporting concerns, promising full legal protection.
The move signals strong federal backing for parents and professionals who raise objections to current pediatric gender care practices.

Bad Policies Till the Day You Die

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
California’s policies are causing major issues in cities like Los Angeles, including crumbling infrastructure, rising crime, and worsening public safety.
Billions spent on homelessness and social programs have had little impact, while city services are increasingly strained.
Credit ratings for both the state and city have been downgraded due to irresponsible spending and sanctuary policies that may put federal funding at risk.
Efforts to reduce police funding are seen as out of touch with the realities on the ground.
Current environmental and energy policies are likely to make these problems even worse if the state doesn’t course-correct.
