Guide to California's Election Night Returns
The most significant night in America’s political calendar has arrived. Millions of Californians are eager to see who will claim the Oval Office in January: Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump.

In addition to the presidential race, California voters will decide the successor to Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat, numerous open House seats, crucial local races, and a contentious statewide crime proposition that nearly split Governor Newsom and his Democratic leadership.
Across the Golden State, every news outlet is poised to capture the conclusion of this year-long election cycle. We’re here to help you stay informed with the latest results.

The media will be tracking election results from the California Secretary of State’s office, so why not skip the middleman and get the returns directly from the source? Returns will start trickling in after 8 pm PST when polls close.

But if you prefer to follow traditional media, here’s our list of local news stations/newspapers to stream or follow online (most are known for providing comprehensive coverage on election night). For some of the newspapers you might need a subscription, but often they will drop the paywall on big coverage nights.

In a new twist for tonight, Brian Williams, formerly of NBC News, is making a return to the anchor desk to host an election night special on Amazon Prime.
