Protecting girls’ sports and safety

Governor Newsom admitted it himself: allowing biological males to compete in girls’ sports is “deeply unfair.” But he’s done nothing to stop it. Steve has a clear plan — and he’s not waiting.

At a press conference in Clovis at the 2025 CIF State Track & Field Championships with Clovis Mayor Pro Tem Diane Pearce and former college athlete Sophia Lorey, Steve announced that on day one as governor, he will demand a repeal of AB 1266 - the law that lets biological males compete in girls’ sports and enter their locker rooms. If the Legislature refuses to act, Steve will file suit to strike down the law as unconstitutional.

This is about basic fairness, safety, and privacy for girls across California —and Steve is the only candidate with a serious plan to act.

Bringing gas prices down to $3 a gallon

On Tuesday, Steve held a town hall forum in East Los Angeles with his good friend, former California Senate Democratic Majority Leader Gloria Romero, bringing together working-class families and small business owners to discuss the gas price crisis and lay out a plan for relief.

California drivers are paying nearly $5 a gallon, surpassing even Hawaii, an island in the middle of the Pacific! If we stay on the path set by Democrat policies, experts warn we could be looking at $9 gas by 2026. Steve has a plan to turn things around.

He will end extreme climate mandates, repeal the costly Low Carbon Fuel Standard, reduce the state gas tax, and bring common-sense reforms to California’s broken regulatory system. With these changes, gas prices would drop to around $3 a gallon.
